Sustainability

Sustainability – isn’t  just a buzzword. How taking small steps with Farm-to-Freezer has big returns

Flash-frozen produce promotes more sustainable farming practices:

This includes reducing soil erosion, conserving water, and supporting biodiversity!

By choosing all-natural meats and organic produce, not only do we support traditional Family-Farming practices, but we can prioritize the health of ecosystems, doing our part to reduce environmental degradation.

Frozen foods are the future.

While “fresh foods” are often seen as the gold standard of healthy and sustainable eating, we believe frozen foods are the unsung hero of a more sustainable future.

No Food Waste and Extended Shelf Life: We like to promote a true “No-Waste” lifestyle. Frozen food can be stored for longer periods, this allows it to be consumed when it’s convenient for you. This eliminates the possibility of the food you spent hard-earned money on from going bad and being thrown away. (And since our food is flash-frozen at peak harvest, the nutritious benefits also do not degrade over time!) Food That’s Ready When You Are.

Enabling Seasonal Availability: This not only reduces the environmental impact of food production, but also ensures that everyone has access to healthy and nutritious food year round! This lowers the demand for out-of-season produce, often grown in energy-intensive greenhouses and has to be transported from distant locations to you.

Lowering Energy Consumption: Frozen foods do not require the same finicky energy-intensive transportation and storage to keep them from rapidly deteriorating as fresh. Overall, they require less energy to transport and store than fresh foods. Fresh foods often need to be transported long distances by truck or plane, which emit harmful greenhouse gasses. Frozen foods, on the other hand, can be transported by ship or train, which emits fewer emissions. And with bulk delivery of your food there we are proud to say we put less truck on the road!

Reducing Water Usage: And finally, frozen foods demand much less water for storage than fresh foods. Fresh produce especially often needs to be rinsed or washed frequently when stored, which requires more water usage. Once they leave the farm, flash-frozen foods do not require this additional water usage!

Small Steps Have Big Returns For Our Planet.

Less Dash:

On average Americans drive 7 miles every week for their groceries and spend upward of 1 hour at the store or stuck in traffic. This bustle can be prevented and this small change helps everyone.

Less Gas:

Less time on the road and less use of gas. With less cars on the road, less harmful emissions are released into the air, meaning less stress and a happier planet for everyone!

Less Trash:

Up to 40% of food in America ends up in the trash. Farm-to Freezer ensures 0% Food Waste. Food That’s Ready When You Are. Plus, our packaging is crafted with bio-degradables, recyclables and earth-friendly materials!
