We serve the city as well as all of the surrounding DC suburbs. Although it’s hard to imagine now, Washington DC has a heavy history in farming. Agricultural reform was sparked in DC when the Revolutionary Way ended. On March 1, 1785, a group of planters founded the first American organization devoted to agriculture. This organization was called The Philadelphia Society for the Promotion of Agriculture. Today, Heartland is helping this legacy live on with our farm-to-table movement.
