~Let’s Surprise Santa with Something other than Cookies This Christmas!~

It’s here. With the holiday season is upon us, what better way to spread cheer and spend time with the kids than by leaving some homemade treats for Santa? If you find yourself short on time amid the usual festive hustle and bustle, fear not! Here are three time-saving dessert recipes that will leave Santa—and your family—delighted.

No-Bake Peppermint Oreo Truffles:

Not only are these fun to prepare, and require NO oven time they only require 5 ingredients!

Ingredients:

1 package of Oreo cookies

1 package of cream cheese (8 oz), softened

1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

white chocolate chips or candy melts for coating

crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor,  crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Or place the cookie in a ziplock bag and take a rolling pin to them.
  2. In a bowl, combine the crushed cookies, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll this mixture into small truffle-sized balls and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Melt the white chocolate or candy melts, and dip each truffle, ensuring it’s fully coated. Place them back on the tray.
  5. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top for a festive touch. Refrigerate until the chocolate coating hardens.

Confetti Squares:

Also known as peanut butter marshmallow squares, these are a vintage and colorful treat that are delicious and fluffy!

¼ cup butter

1 cup peanut butter

1 bag butterscotch chips

5 cups of mini rainbow marshmallows

  1. Line a square 9×9 inch (Or similar size) with aluminum foil and lightly grease. In a medium saucepan over low heat melt together your butter, peanut butter & butterscotch chips.
  2. Stir occasionally until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove mixture from the heat and allow to cool to room temp. Stir in the rainbow marshmallows. Pour all of this into the prepared pan and set in the fridge to harden for a few hours.

Gingerbread Mug Cakes:
This one has a bit more ingredients but it’s worth it. Enjoy all the gingerbread flavors of winter without having to roll out cookies or preheat the oven.

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

2 teaspoons molasses

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

¼ cup milk

5 tablespoons  all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon baking powder


Spices: 

¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 tsp Pumpkin pie spice!)

a pinch of salt

  1. Melt butter in a microwave-safe mug for about 20 seconds.
  2. Add molasses, milk, and sugar to the butter and whip together with a fork.
  3. Slowly incorporate your dry ingredients:  baking powder, and spices. Adding them Into the mug gradually, whisking until smooth.
  4. Microwave on high for 1 minute. If the top of the mug cake is still wet, microwave in 10 second increments until the top of the cake is set. Let the mug cool for 1 minute before enjoying! Top with whip cream or icing if desired.

These time-saving dessert recipes are not only easy to whip up but also offer a delicious way to treat Santa during his busy night of gift-giving. And these are so easy you can get the whole family involved, creating lasting memories as you prepare these treats together. After all, the joy of the season is as much about sharing moments as it is about sharing treats.
